Bed Time

One area of my life that desperately needs to change is the amount of sleep I get each day. I feel so much better and am so much more effective when I get more than 6.5 hours of sleep each day. So I think some changes to bed time and morning routine are in order.

I tend to go to bed around 10 pm, mostly because I am a night person. To get to work by 7:15, I leave at 6:15 in the morning. The problem is that I get up at 4:30 so that I have time to feed the furries, play with Grendel, eat breakfast, drink coffee and check my email.

This week, I am going to try to go to bed by 9:45 pm and get up at 4:45. It's an additional 30 minutes that I could spend listening to my body tell me to sleep. It translates into an additional 2.5 hours a week.

Going to bed earlier should not be a problem. I could spend less time in the morning checking email and facebook. Then I can get out the door a little more refreshed.
